gccをgcc 4.3.0-dw2 (mingw)から，gcc 4.3.2-dw2 (mingw)に変更しました。 
CFLAGS='-O3'から CFLAGS='-O3 -fomit-frame-pointer'変更しても 安定なようです。
より高速になったと思います。

-fomit-frame-pointer
Don't keep the frame pointer in a register for functions that don't need one. 
This avoids the instructions to save, set up and restore frame pointers; 
it also makes an extra register available in many functions. 
It also makes debugging impossible on some machines.

すこし，危険はオプションで，実際gcc 4.3.0-dw2ではこれをつかうとgnuplot.exeで
set term gd などど存在しないターミナルを指定するとhangしてました。

gcc 4.3.2-dw2 ではこれがありません。-fomit-frame-pointerは使えるとかなり
高速化するオプションではあります。

まあ，純正版でないからやってもいいかな。という感じです。
